A couple’s unconventional wedding procession has gone viral after footage of them riding atop a decorated bulldozer shovel made its way onto social media, leaving thousands of Kenyans both impressed and thoroughly entertained.
Rather than a limousine or a flower-draped saloon car, the newlyweds chose something far more unexpected.
The bride, dressed in a flowing white gown, sat beside her groom, who wore a black-and-white tuxedo, on ornate chairs fastened securely to the front shovel of a bulldozer as it rolled along a busy road.
A Procession Like No Other
The shovel itself had been transformed into a ceremonial stage of sorts, adorned with red roses, green leaves, and gold accents that matched the gilded arms of the couple’s chairs.
Ribbons and flowers covered much of the vehicle, giving the industrial machine a surprisingly warm and festive feel.
Two security guards in uniform stood on either side of the couple, holding umbrellas above them to shield them from the sun.
The procession was accompanied by a convoy of boda boda riders who hooted and cheered as they rode alongside, while curious residents joined on foot, walking beside the slow-moving machine.
