Police are investigating an incident in which a foreigner died while in his Airbnb in Kilimani area, Nairobi.

The victim, a Nigerian identified as John Obas Isokpehi, 44, had been in the room along Kindaruma Road for a week before the incident happened on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the victim had called the owner of the room saying he was feeling unwell.

The owner found him unresponsive and took him to hospital where he died.

Police said preliminary findings had shown he suffered high blood pressure.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending further autopsy and probe.

Elsewhere in Athi River, a man died at a sand harvesting site.

This is after he was trapped in a cave where workers excavated sand on July 29.

Police said the body of Kyalo Juma aged 26 was discovered in the cave having been hit and covered with rocks and sand.

It is suspected the incident happened after the walls of the cave collapsed. Police are investigating the incident.

The caves have been dug deeper to enable harvesting of the sand from the place amid calls to address the menace of environmental issues.
