Comedian Njambi Fever has set social media ablaze after posting a video on her Instagram page announcing that she is on the hunt for a wife, complete with a list of requirements and a package of benefits for the lucky candidate.
In the clip, the content creator was direct about what she wants from a potential partner.
What qualities is Njambi looking for in a wife?
She specified that the woman must know how to cook and love ironing clothes.
In return, Njambi promised to cover rent and Wi-Fi bills, and to throw in a monthly KSh 30,000 allowance for personal spending.
There were a few conditions attached to the deal. Njambi made it clear that her future wife should not come with children of her own, explaining that she already has a child who has a nanny but will occasionally need attention from the wife.
She also set a firm timeline.
“By December, you should already be my wife because I want a wife, not a husband,” she said in the video, signalling she is serious about making this happen before the year is out.
Kenyans react
The post did not take long to attract commentary from all corners.
Some viewers found it genuinely funny, while others questioned whether the conditions she was proposing were realistic.
A section of her audience wondered if it was simply another calculated move to stay in the public eye, a tactic the comedian is no stranger to.
Here is what some followers had to say:
@itsmiriam.miriam:
“I know it’s humor, but is that what men are looking for out here?? Sounds like slavery 😂”
@misigo_martin:
“Haha they always revert back to default settings….😂”
@i_n_d_i_a_z_i:
“Wacha nicheke kwanza, na kicheko inaenda kwa Ruto direct 😂💔”
@alpha_femald:
“Sasa this will be for me aje na staki Dem 😂natafta ndume”
@hushzoneluxe:
“Go and rest 😂”
Several commenters pointed out that the requirements Njambi listed were not far off from what is traditionally expected of women in many Kenyan households, with some suggesting the video held up a mirror to longstanding societal norms around marriage and domestic roles.
