Comedian Njugush is giving fans a raw and relatable look at life as a co-parenting dad, and his latest video has the internet laughing and nodding along.
In a clip he shared on Wednesday, September 9, Njugush documented the familiar morning madness of getting his children out of the house and to their school bus on time.
The footage showed him rallying the boys, urging them to get ready so they could head out together and wait for the bus.
What started as a routine morning quickly went sideways when one of the children announced they needed to use the toilet, right at the moment when every second counted.
“They know what they do, hawa,” Njugush joked.
Why is Njugush parenting his kids alone?
The light-hearted post comes against the backdrop of a significant personal change in Njugush’s life.
He and his former wife, Wakavinye, alias Celestine Ndinda, publicly confirmed their separation in April 2026, though the split had reportedly happened in 2025 amid months of online speculation.
The two first met as students at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication and got married in 2016, building both a family and a shared comedy brand that made them one of Kenya’s most recognisable couples.
Their sons, Tugi and Toria, have remained at the centre of both parents’ lives as they navigate co-parenting separately.
Njugush has described the decision to part ways as one made thoughtfully and with mutual respect. Neither he nor
Wakavinye has publicly pointed to a specific reason for the split, and both have pushed back against unverified cheating claims that circulated widely online.
Since the separation, the two have pursued independent careers, with Njugush continuing his comedy work and his Through Thick and Thin events, while Wakavinye has been developing her own brand through her podcast.
