Nominated MP Sabina Chege has urged Kenyans to pray fervently to prevent a rift between President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua. The former Murang’a Woman Representative emphasized the importance of seeking divine intervention to avoid a potential fallout between the two leaders.
Chege’s statement comes amid growing tensions and verbal clashes among allies, suggesting a widening divide between the president and his deputy.
“My Prayer as a woman who has been in politics for sometime is that let us pray for the president and his deputy so that the bond continues to hold,” Chege said on Friday.
Speaking during a women empowerment event in Samburu County, Chege called on Kenyans to be vigilant and guard against any divisions that may create enmity between them.
“We pray that satan should not get a way into your relationship, we have supported you and we want to support you so that Kenya moves forward,” she added.
The lawmaker, who is allied to the Jubilee party, said Kenyans should remain united and resist any attempts to divide them and their leaders.
“We are behind you(the president and his deputy) so that when I come here in Samburu I feel at home, let us leave in harmony,” Chege said.
The MP was part of a delegation of MPs who joined Gachagua during his visit to Maralal for a fundraiser aimed at supporting women groups in Samburu County. Gachagua’s increased travel around the country comes amid concerns over the state of his relationship with his boss.
