Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga showcased his prowess by scoring twice to propel Al Duhail SC into the semi-final of the Amir Cup. In a thrilling match against Al Arabi at Al Janoub Stadium on the evening of Monday, May 13, 2024, Al Duhail emerged victorious with a 3-2 scoreline.

The action-packed game began with Youssef Msakni opening the scoring for Al Arabi in the third minute. However, Al Duhail quickly responded, with Michael Olunga netting the equalizer just five minutes later. Rising high to meet a cross from Al Moez, the Harambee Star powered the ball into the net to level the score.

Despite Al Arabi taking the lead again in the 10th minute with another goal from Msakni, Al Duhail continued to press forward. Their efforts paid off in the 25th minute when Phillipe Coutinho struck, courtesy of an assist from Al Moez, to bring the score to 2-2.

As the game progressed, Al Duhail asserted their dominance, creating numerous chances. Although opportunities from Ismail and Olunga went begging, the team remained in control. Olunga eventually sealed the victory in the 59th minute, capitalizing on an assist from Coutinho to secure his brace and ensure Al Duhail’s place in the semi-finals.
