Ferdinand Omanyala, Africa’s fastest man, is set for an exciting challenge this weekend at the Racer’s Grand Prix in Kingston, Jamaica. This event will serve as an ideal preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as Omanyala competes against some of the world’s top sprinters.

Among his competitors are America’s Noah Lyles, a two-time world 200-meter champion who recently clocked an impressive 9.96 at the Bermuda Grand Prix, and Great Britain’s Zharnel Hughes, a triple world champion and the world 100m bronze medalist.

This will mark Hughes’ first appearance in the 100m this season. Additionally, Omanyala will face Jamaican youngster Oblique Seville, who has been making waves after his victory in the 200m race at the Atlanta City Games a week ago.

For Omanyala, who has yet to secure a win this season, the Saturday extravaganza will be a crucial test of his abilities and a chance to gauge his preparedness against some of the best in the world.

The competition promises to be intense and a significant indicator of the form and readiness of these elite athletes as they build towards the Olympics.
