Gor Mahia patron Eliud Owallo has urged the record champions and league leaders to remain focused and approach their remaining fixtures with caution as the Kenya Premier League title race enters its decisive stage, while also reaffirming his continued support for the team.

Owallo was speaking after fulfilling his promise of KSh. 1 million to the squad following their hard-fought 1-0 Mashemeji Derby victory over AFC Leopards, a result that saw K’Ogalo open a six-point lead at the top of the table with five matches left to play.

“I believe we have what it takes to win the league, especially after yesterday’s win in the derby. In fulfilling my promise, I want to thank the players for giving us the victory,” Owallo said.

Looking ahead to the run-in, the Gor Mahia patron stressed the importance of maintaining focus, particularly with a crucial away fixture on the horizon.

“I want to urge you yo take each game at a time.Yes we have five games to go ,but focusing on one game especially the next one in Kakamega will be crucial in advancing our title hopes, and mine will be to support you,” he added.

Gor Mahia will next face Kakamega Homeboyz away at Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday, May 3, 2025, as they seek to extend their lead at the summit.

The clash marks the start of a challenging run that also includes matches against Kenya Police FC, Murang’a Seal, Mara Sugar, and Nairobi United.

During the post-match event, Man of the Match Chris Alpha Onyango was awarded KSh25,000, while the entire squad received an additional KSh75,000 bonuses from one of the club’s sponsors.

With momentum building and support growing, Gor Mahia’s title ambitions will depend on their ability to stay disciplined and take each match as it comes.
