Several families are grappling with grief following a tragic road accident that struck Washuk town on Wednesday, May 29. The devastating crash claimed the lives of at least 28 individuals and left 20 others injured, some with severe wounds.

According to reports from Voanews, the ill-fated passenger bus was en route from Turbat, the second-largest city in Baluchistan province, to Quetta, the provincial capital.

Local law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the scene, revealing that the driver, who tragically perished in the accident, had lost control of the vehicle. This loss of control caused the bus to veer off the road and plunge into a rocky ravine.

In response to the calamity, Baluchistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti ordered the immediate transportation of the injured to the hospital for urgent medical attention, ensuring they received the best possible care.

Bugti, among other state leaders, sincerely consoled the bereaved families and wished a quick recovery to the injured. Meanwhile, authorities have begun gathering information from survivors to ascertain the root cause of this devastating incident.

According to the police, the accident occurred due to poor visibility caused by adverse weather conditions in the region.
