Popular ‘Twa Twa’ preacher Pastor Sue Munene has revealed how she endured years of criticism, rumours and family pressure over delayed childbirth before eventually conceiving.

Speaking during an interview with JCC’s lady bishop, Kathy Kiuna, on Friday, May 1, 2026, the pastor recalled how she was subjected to harsh judgment from her husband’s relatives, who questioned her ability to bear children and raised concerns as the years went by without a child in the marriage.

She said the situation escalated to the point where she was labelled barren by some members of the extended family, while others circulated unverified claims about her past, including speculation about possible medical or personal reasons behind the delay in conception.

“People started calling me barren. A lot of bad stories came from my husband’s relatives, and they kept insulting me, saying I was married to a pastor yet I had no child. It became a very painful situation, and some even tried to give it deeper meanings, saying maybe I used injections when I was younger,” she shared.

According to her, the pressure did not only affect her privately but also became a family matter, with relatives frequently calling meetings to question her husband over the couple’s situation. She said the discussions often involved attempts to influence him to consider another woman.

Despite the pressure, she noted that her husband remained firmly supportive, consistently defending their marriage and insisting that she was his wife. She added that he stood by her even when family members suggested alternative relationships and questioned her background.

“My husband’s relatives would call him to meetings and pressure him because years were passing without us having children. They even reminded him that he belongs to God and told him they did not know my background or family, or whether I was a good person for him. Some even tried to introduce him to another woman,” Sue shared.

She further revealed that at one point, her husband addressed the concerns by telling relatives that medical consultations had indicated the issue was not solely about her, in an effort to protect her from continued blame and emotional distress.

Eventually, the couple received what she described as a breakthrough, as she later conceived, marking the end of years of emotional struggle and public speculation within the family circle.

“But my husband stood by me and defended me. He told them I was his wife. At some point, he even told them that he had gone for medical tests and that I was not the problem, just to protect me from their pressure,” Sue said.

She said the experience taught her resilience and reinforced her faith, adding that she chose to embrace motherhood fully and confidently once her pregnancy was confirmed.

“Later, I became pregnant, and it was a breakthrough for me after everything I went through,” she added.
