The Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) Nakuru East Presbytery is set to hold a peaceful justice procession in honour of slain Reverend Julius Ngari Ndumia, as the church continues to mourn his killing and push for accountability over the brutal attack that claimed his life.

According to a church notice shared by reverend Stephen Ndoria on Facebook on Thursday, May 7, 2026, the procession will take place on Friday, May 8, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm from Cool Rivers Hotel in Nakuru and proceeding to PCEA Tabuga Parish.

The event, described as a “justice procession demonstrating justice and seeking peace,” is part of a series of memorial activities organised for the late minister, who served at Tabuga Parish under the Nakuru East Presbytery.

The church called on all ministers within the Presbytery to attend in cassock, urging members to stand together in unity as they seek justice for the slain reverend.

“Tabuga PCEA Parish. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10 JUSTICE PROCESSION. DEMONSTRATING JUSTICE, SEEKING PEACE. All Members of NAKURU EAST PRESBYTERY, let us stand together in unity and peace as we seek Justice,” the notice read in part.

The organisers also emphasised that the march will be peaceful, with a strong message calling for an end to violence and restoration of peace within communities.

In the notice, participants were encouraged to observe a dress code of black and white attire as a symbol of mourning and peace.

The church anchored its message on biblical references, including Matthew 5:10 and Micah 6:8, highlighting righteousness, justice, mercy, and humility before God.

“ROUTE: COOL RIVERS PCEA TABUGA DATE: FRIDAY, 8TH MAY 2026 TIME: 2:00 PM (Collection Time). OUR MESSAGE. Justice must prevail. Violence must end. Peace for our communities. DRESS CODE. BLACK/WHITE ATTIRE (Symbol of Mourning & Peace),” the statement added.

Ndumia’s burial

Reverend Ndumia’s burial has also been officially scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2026, at Thegenge Parish in Nyeri Presbytery.

In addition, two memorial services will be held ahead of the burial, including a service on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Neema Church in Nakuru East Presbytery and another on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Baraka Parish in Kajiado Presbytery.

The late reverend was killed in a violent attack at his church manse in Tabuga Parish, Nakuru East Presbytery, an incident that also left a watchman injured.

Church leadership previously confirmed that the assault was carried out by unknown assailants who broke into the premises at night.
