Mumias East MP Peter Salasya landed in Abu Dhabi looking like a completely different man after a fellow passenger took it upon herself to give him a brand-new hairstyle mid-flight.
Salasya, who was travelling to the UAE on a business trip aimed at attracting investors to Mumias East, shared the unexpected transformation on Facebook, along with a photo showing fresh cornrows at the back of his head, taken inside the plane cabin.

According to the MP, a woman seated next to him on the flight struck up a conversation and offered to keep herself busy by braiding his hair during the roughly three-hour journey to Abu Dhabi.
Salasya obliged, caught some sleep, and woke up sporting the new look.
“She told me, ‘Mhesh, am so idled, can I get busy for 3 hours making your hair? By the time you get to Abu Dhabi, you will be looking mwaaa,’ Salasya wrote.
The MP seemed thoroughly entertained by the outcome, joking that he could not possibly return to Kenya looking the way he did.
“Sasa niliamka nikaa hivi siezi rudi Kenya kama inakaa hivi nakaa Drogba mwitu ama Sande Olise mwitu,” he wrote, comparing himself to football legends Didier Drogba and Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise.
Beyond the hair, the Mumias East MP said the trip had a serious purpose. He was in the UAE to scout for investors willing to put money into his constituency, covering sectors ranging from talent and technology to traditional vegetable farming.
