Police officers in Murang’a have arrested three female suspects amid a crackdown on illicit brews.

According to a statement issued by the National Police Service (NPS) the crackdown was a collaborative effort that involved the police, the public and the local administration on May 27.

The crackdown on illicit brews within Marema Village led police to the homestead of one Njuguna.

“The operation led to seizure of 83 crates of Santa King Ice believed to be a counterfeit alcohol, five crates without stickers, and arrest of three female suspects,” police said.
The crackdown comes amid an intensified operation by security agencies to wipe out ilicit brews in all regions across the country.
