Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti on Friday called on the Christian community to reflect on the meaning of Easter and to pray for the country during this sacred period.

Speaking to the press in Machakos after participating in a Catholic Way of the Cross procession, Governor Ndeti emphasized the significance of Easter as a time to remember the crucifixion and the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ for humanity’s salvation.

“Easter is a time to reflect on the fact that Jesus Christ died on the cross so that we may all be saved. We should also take this opportunity to pray for our country, that God may continue to bless us,” she said.

In addition to her spiritual message, the governor issued a safety advisory, urging residents to avoid swollen rivers and other flood-prone areas during the ongoing rainy season to prevent loss of life.
