President William Ruto has nominated Bishop Dr.David Adang Oginde as the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Dr Oginde ‘s name has been forwarded to the National Assembly for consideration in fulfilment of the legal requirements set out under the Constitution and the EACC Act.
According to a statement from the Office of the President, the nomination fills the vacancy caused by the retirement of Archbishop (Emeritus) Dr. Eliud Wabukala, who served a full six year term at the helm of the EACC.
The nomination was preceded by a competitive recruitment process undertaken by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
“At the conclusion of the exercise, PSC recommended to the Head of State and Government the appointment of any of the following persons; Bishop Dr. David Oginde, Prof. Kibutha Kibwana or AmaniYuda Komara.” Read the statement.
An Architect by training, Bishop Oginde is the immediate former Presiding Bishop of Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM), and is also the immediate former Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University.
He holds a PhD in Organisational Leadership from Regent University School of Business and Leadership, USA.
Dr Oginde previously graduated with a Master’s Degree in Leadership from Pan Africa Christian University.
Bishop Oginde also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Nairobi in addition to undertaking Biblical Studies at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Trinity International University) in Illinois, USA.
