A Tanzanian prophet has issued a stark public warning to anyone who ever received a gift from Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo, urging them to burn the items without delay.

Prophet Fadhili The Kemuel delivered the warning on Thursday, October 1, 2026, just a day after Chivayo died in a fatal helicopter crash alongside several others whose families are now grieving across the region.

In remarks shared via an Instagram post by @rickmedia.tz, the prophet said the gifts distributed by Chivayo were not ordinary.

Prophet addresses Chivayo’s association with men of God

He claimed that before the businessman’s death, Chivayo had allegedly been tasked with drawing people into a ritual covenant by handing them items loaded with spiritual implications. According to the prophet, every such item was linked to a dark oath.

“If anyone was given anything by the late Sir Wicknell, they should burn the items because they were associated with bad oaths,” the prophet reportedly said.

He also addressed the businessman’s well-documented association with men of God, telling his audience not to be puzzled by that pattern. In his view, the closeness to religious figures was itself part of what he described as a demonic mission to spread influence through gifting.

Relatives, church members gather at Chivayo’s home to mourn him

Prophet Fadhili said he had chosen to share only a limited portion of what he knew, deliberately holding back fuller details.

Relatives and church members gathered at Chivayo’s home to mourn the flamboyant tycoon, whose death sent shockwaves well beyond Zimbabwe’s borders.

Three other victims who perished in the crash alongside Chivayo have since been identified.

British rapper Stefflon Don was among those who publicly mourned him, and heartbreaking photos of his children circulated widely online, drawing an outpouring of sympathy.

Chivayo’s expensive shoes were recovered at the crash site, with the images serving as a painful reminder of the tragedy.

Prophet Fadhili’s warning has added an unsettling spiritual dimension to an already painful public moment, leaving many who knew or admired Chivayo wrestling with the claims.
