President William Ruto has urged Mt. Kenya leaders to support county governments in fulfilling their mandates. Speaking on Saturday, Ruto cautioned the leaders against engaging in political supremacy battles, emphasizing that their primary focus should be on serving the people and delivering on their campaign promises.
The President made these remarks while hosting a group of Mt. Kenya leaders for breakfast at State House, Nairobi. The meeting took place ahead of his development tour in Kirinyaga County on the same day.
During his visit to Kirinyaga, Ruto is set to break ground for the construction of the Sagana Industrial Park and launch a Last Mile Connectivity project in Kang’aru. He will also inaugurate the Kiangungu TVET and the Baricho-Kagumo-Gathuthuma-Kangaita road.
On Friday, the President toured Murang’a County, where he launched several development projects, including last mile connectivity and markets.
Following his Mt. Kenya development tour, Ruto will head to the Nyanza region to launch several development projects in Kisii and Nyamira counties. Earlier in the week, Ruto met with elected leaders from the Gusii region in preparation for his planned three-day visit.
