Rangwe Member of Parliament Lilian Gogo has dismissed the claims that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has suspended the 2027 coalition talks with the ruling United Democratic Alliance(UDA).
There has been a report that the ODM party suspended pre-election coalition talks with UDA following the standoff between the two parties on Zoning and the deputy president slot.
Speaking in Rangwe constituency, Gogo said the relationship between ODM and the UDA party is still intact, and the two parties will be together under the broad-based government before and after next year’s polls.
The MP further criticized reports that ODM party has fallen into President William Ruto’s trap, saying those are rumors being peddled by haters who want the two parties to disintegrate
She stated that the ODM top leadership has given its party leader, Oburu Oginga, the mandate to continue with talks with President Ruto’s party, UDA, to formulate a 2027 pre-election coalition agreement.
Gogo also asked youth who have acquired ID and have not registered as voters to use the ongoing continuous voter registration by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to ensure they register.
