Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang has urged President William Ruto to rescind his decision on construction of the affordable housing in the devolved unit.

The Kenya Kwanza Alliance-affiliated legislator stated that over 5,000 residents will be left homeless if the programme is affected in the county.

Senator Chesang further noted that the initiative will affect already existing developments in the area which include schools, hospitals and recreational facilities.

“Mimi nataka niombe rais kwamba kuna wengi wataathirika ikiwemo vijana…na ni hawa vijana uliahidi kazi. Kuna wengi walinunua haya mashamba na sasa wataathirika,” he said.

“Hawa ni wakazi walikupigia kura. Kuna hospitali na mashule zitabomolewa.”
