Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Khalid Mohamed, popularly known as TID, is currently in Kenya, stirring excitement among fans after his video gained traction on TikTok.

The renowned musician addressed the media on Wednesday, April 24, at Quiver Lounge in Nairobi.

TID, celebrated for hits such as “Kiuno,” “Nyota Yako,” “We Dada,” “Girlfriend,” “Zeze,” and “Siamini,” among others, took the opportunity to discuss the protection of his music.

He has since issued a stern warning to Arbantone artists against using his music for remixes without his consent.

“I’ll have you arrested, don’t do that. If you take my song and use it for your own purposes without my consent, you’ll face consequences, my young brothers, and I’ll hold it against you forever,” TID said.

Responding to queries about his bandmate Q Chief’s absence, TID clarified their professional relationship, stating,

“Q Chief is not my girlfriend or wife that I have to take everywhere. We only collaborate on business projects. We are currently recording an album, and the group is intact. We have a lot of work to do.”

During his visit, the “Siamini” hitmaker has expressed interest in collaborating with Kenyan musicians.

TID has been missing in action until recently after a viral meme featuring an incident where he was interrupted by a bodaboda operator during an interview.

The video, which has since gone viral on social media, captures TID’s frustration as he questions the interruption,

exclaiming, “Huyu ni nani? Who is this guy, why are you passing by during my interview? I hate you!”

The interviewer tried to defuse the situation, saying, “Let’s ignore the bodaboda guy.”

The meme has taken social media by storm, with many Kenyans recreating the video using TID’s sounds.

Born in Dar es Salaam, TID’s stage name is an acronym for “Top in Dar,” reflecting his roots in his hometown.
