Due to the country’s continuous poor network service, the US Embassy in Tanzania has stated that it will be closed for two days.
The embassy announced in a statement that it will not be open on May 14 and 15, citing Tanzania’s ongoing poor network performance as a result of a severed underwater cable, which has also impacted Kenya and other nations in East and Southern Africa.

“Due to degraded network service nationwide, the embassy will remain closed to the public. All consular appointments on May 14 & 15 will be cancelled and rescheduled to a later date. The consular section will be open as scheduled for visa pick up and for emergency American citizen cases,” the embassy announced.
