The lifeless body of a middle-aged man was on Friday discovered inside an electronics store in Mwingi, Kitui County with CCTV surveillance revealing that he fell from the establishment’s roof while breaking into the premises.

The store owner, Mulinge Kituo, told Citizen Digital that he found the deceased in his shop at around 7:15 am. Not certain of the man’s condition, Kituo, closed the premises and reported the incident to a nearby police station.

“When I arrived, I noticed that the gypsum ceiling was broken. I then noticed the body. I wasn’t sure if he was alive or dead so I closed shop and promptly headed to a police station,” said Kituo.

Police later arrived at the scene, confirming the death of the suspected thief who fell head-first onto the concrete floor.

CCTV surveillance from the shop shows the man breaking into the establishment and falling on the floor at around 11:40 pm on Thursday night.

He did not pass away immediately, writhing in pain for about 10 minutes before going silent.
