Nairobi residents in certain areas have been advised to prepare for medium to heavy rainfall on Friday and Saturday, according to an update from the Kenya Meteorological Department.
The forecast covers the period from Friday 9 am to Saturday 9 am, and specific areas expected to experience rainfall include Embakasi West, Embakasi Central, Embakasi North, as well as parts of Dagoretti North, Dagoretti South, and Westlands, with rainfall amounts reaching up to 10mm.
In contrast, areas like Lang’ata, Starehe, Kamukunji, and Embakasi East are expected to receive little or no rainfall during this period.
Kenya Met’s broader weather outlook for September 24 to September 30 indicates that most of the country will remain sunny and dry. However, occasional rain is forecast for the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and Coastal regions.
Additionally, some areas in the South Rift Valley, Coast, South-Eastern lowlands, Western, North-Eastern, and North-Western Kenya will experience daytime temperatures above 30°C. Meanwhile, parts of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, and South-Eastern lowlands may experience low nighttime temperatures, dropping below 10°C.
