Media personality Lynn Ngugi has encouraged people facing difficult seasons to extend grace to themselves and keep moving.

In a video shared on Monday, October 19, 2026, Ngugi reflected on worrying seasons, describing moments when she did not know which direction to take or whether things would work out.

She acknowledged that people experiencing anxiety may struggle to embrace positivity when worry dominates their thoughts.

Extending grace to yourself

Ngugi said looking back at difficult periods made her realise the importance of treating herself with kindness rather than allowing worry to consume her.

“I really wish I had extended grace to myself. I wish I had spoken to myself with so much kindness, and I wish I had let a bit of positivity in,” she said.

She explained that such seasons could take a toll on emotional wellbeing, particularly when anxiety and panic made it difficult to see beyond immediate challenges.

Finding strength through movement

The media personality encouraged people experiencing uncertainty to keep moving, explaining that taking action could help them navigate challenging periods.

“I need you to move. You know, there’s so much when you start moving. There’s so much power in motion,” she said.

Ngugi recalled a phrase her big sister uses whenever she feels like slowing down: “Meri farife move,” as she recounted it in the video.

She said movement could mean taking a walk, speaking kindly to oneself or making small efforts to keep going. Small steps can help people avoid becoming consumed by worry.

Difficult seasons do not last

Ngugi reassured viewers that difficult periods eventually end, even when it is hard to imagine a different outcome.

“Those worrying seasons never last. They never last, those seasons, but they are the seasons that will take a toll on you,” she said.

She urged anyone struggling with uncertainty not to give up, adding: “Don’t lose yourself in your worrying season. Things get better.”

Ngugi’s message has highlighted the importance of self-compassion, patience and taking manageable steps while navigating life’s uncertainties.
