Three individuals, namely George Abong’o, Charles Otieno, and Eliud Ochae, have been detained at Bondo police station in Siaya County following their arrest in connection with the murder of 31-year-old Erick Oyombe in Sirongo village. Oyombe tragically passed away while receiving treatment at Uyawi sub-county hospital.
According to Stephen Ochieng’, Oyombe’s brother, the victim was severely assaulted by individuals known to him on Saturday night. He was subsequently rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Officers from Kopolo police patrol base responded to the incident, finding Oyombe’s lifeless body at the dispensary with a significant head injury.
Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo reported that the police proceeded to the suspects’ residences in Sirongo Beach, where Abong’o, Otieno, and Ochae were apprehended. The deceased’s body was transferred to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary, while the suspects remain in custody pending further investigations.
