The accident that involved a school bus belonging to Maadili school kindergarten from Thika town in Kiambu county occurred around 6 pm as they were travelling from Nyeri county

According to Murang’a county police commander Kainga Mathiu, the bus had 35 pupils, two drivers and three teachers at the time of the accident.

Kainga confirmed that one pupil died at the scene while two others perished as they were undergoing treatment at Murang’a Level Five Hospital.

Two pupils who suffered serious injuries are currently in the hospital’s ICU while the rest, including the teachers and drivers, are being tended to.
