A masked TikTok content creator who goes by the handle @finder_kenya has struck gold again, this time unearthing a rare clip of President William Ruto standing beside his late father, Daniel Cheruiyot, in what appears to be a deeply personal moment caught on camera.

The latest find came after a Kenyan user asked him to locate footage of Daniel Cheruiyot, who passed away in April 2008. At the time of his death, William Ruto was serving as the Member of Parliament for Eldoret North.
In the video, Ruto is seen wearing a cap adorned with the Kenyan flag as he greets his father and introduces him to the camera.
The two are standing next to what looks like a traditional granary built from wooden sticks, lending the moment a warm, rural setting far removed from today’s State House corridors.
Ruto spoke candidly about his father’s standing in the community during his early political days, recounting how the elder Cheruiyot’s reputation preceded him on the campaign trail.
“This is my dad. When I ran for the first time in 1997, when I went around, because my dad was prominent, many did not ask me who my dad was or whether he was a managing director of a company. I told them it was not all that,” Ruto said in the clip.
The video stirred strong feelings in the comments, with many pausing to reflect on the resemblance between father and son, as well as the weight of loss.
