The Zimbabwean businessman hinted at upgrading to a Gulfstream G800, which he described as the “top of the range”.

Wicknell Chivayo, the Zimbabwean businessman known for his lavish lifestyle, sat down for a candid studio interview and spoke openly about his passion for private jets and plans to keep upgrading.

The clip, posted on TikTok by @tadiim24 on May 5, 2025, took on a sombre meaning after Chivayo died in a helicopter crash.

In the interview, the host noted that Chivayo had purchased a Gulfstream the previous year for US$12.5 million (KSh1.62 billion), followed by a US$34 million (KSh4.40 billion) aircraft just months later.

When asked whether he was planning to launch an airline, Chivayo laughed off the question with characteristic bravado.

In the video shared by @tadiim24, the Zimbabwean businessman explained that upgrading was simply part of his lifestyle.

He suggested that things eventually became boring, prompting him to move from one aircraft to the next and continually upgrade to the top of the range.

If he were to purchase another aircraft, Chivayo said it would be the Gulfstream G800, which he put at around US$90 million (KSh11.66 billion).

He described the aircraft as the “top of the range” and joked about the contrast between private aviation and the frustrations of commercial air travel.
