The United Arab Emirates has launched an online portal that allows foreigners from any country to check whether they may qualify for its long-term Golden Visa.
The tool is available to people worldwide, regardless of their nationality or current country of residence. Applicants do not need an existing UAE residence permit to use it.
What the Golden Visa offers
The Golden Visa is a renewable residence permit valid for five or 10 years. It allows eligible foreign nationals to live, work or study in the UAE without requiring a national sponsor.
Holders can also remain outside the UAE for longer than the usual six-month period without losing their residency status.
The permit further allows holders to sponsor their spouses and children to live with them in the UAE.These benefits make it an attractive option for professionals, investors and skilled workers seeking long-term residence in the Gulf country.
How to check eligibility
Prospective applicants can access the eligibility checker through the UAE’s official smart services website operated by the Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Authority.
The check can be completed as a guest. This means users do not need to create an account or already hold UAE residency before starting the process.
