Former President Uhuru Kenyatta gave wedding guests an unforgettable surprise when footage of him busting some serious moves at a reception went viral on TikTok.
The video, shared by a wedding filmmaker, shows a lively indoor reception venue decorated with draped white fabric and warm string lighting, packed with guests dancing to upbeat music.
Amid the celebrations, Uhuru can be seen joining in with real energy, clearly in his element at the festive gathering.
The moment that had Kenyans talking, however, came when the bride and groom reached out and took the former president’s hands, drawing him onto the dance floor for what turned into a solo dance with just the three of them.
The crowd reaction made it clear nobody had expected the former head of state to be that comfortable in the spotlight outside of a political arena.
Uhuru attends with Mama Ngina and Margaret
The former president did not attend alone. He was accompanied by his mother, the influential Mama Ngina Kenyatta, as well as his wife, Margaret Kenyatta, making it a full family outing for the Kenyatta household.
The presence of such high-profile guests naturally added to the excitement of what was already a joyous occasion.
In one clip, the groom is seen speaking into a microphone, presumably during a toast or speech, with the bride beside him as guests danced around them.
It is not every day that a Kenyan wedding gets this kind of star power, and the footage capturing Uhuru’s dance moves spread quickly once it hit social media.
