Ochieng guided the Soldiers to their sixth consecutive victory of the season with a 1-0 win over Kenya Police Bullets, a result that propelled them to the top of the league standings with 18 points.
They are three points clear of Police Bullets and Kibera Soccer Women, who occupy second and third positions with 15 points each. Mathare United Women are fourth with 10 points, while Shabana sit fifth on nine.
“We have prepared well for the match, and our objective is to secure victory and consolidate our position at the top. Bungoma Queens are an experienced side that have been in the top flight for a long time, so we expect a tough contest. However, we will fight hard and maintain the level of commitment we have demonstrated since the start of the season,” said Ochieng.
“Every match is a final for us. Having finished second in the league last season, we want to change that narrative and win the title this time around.”
Ochieng also confirmed that he has no injury concerns ahead of the encounter, with players who picked up knocks in their previous fixture having since recovered.
“I had a couple of players who were injured in the last match, including my centre-back Lorine Ilavonga and left-back Mejor Mercyline. However, the physiotherapist has confirmed that they are both fine,” he added.
Sunday’s other fixture will see former champions Vihiga Queens take on Police Bullets at Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu.
Saturday’s programme will feature Gideon Starlets hosting Kayole Starlets at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay, while Shabana face Trinity at Green Stadium in Awendo. Kibera Soccer Women will take on Elim White at Police Sacco Stadium.
The final fixture of the round will see Zetech take on Mathare United Women at Dandora Stadium.
