Kenyans living in Lebanon have been cautioned about fraudsters demanding payment for evacuation services amidst the escalating Israeli invasion. This warning follows the Kenyan government’s recent call for citizens in the war-torn country to register for evacuation.
The State Department for Diaspora Affairs issued a statement urging Kenyans to be vigilant and report any fraudulent activities. The department clarified that the government is providing evacuation services at no cost.
“We want to alert all Kenyans in Lebanon about reports of fraudsters exploiting vulnerable individuals by charging fees for evacuation services. Evacuation is funded by the Kenyan government, and no payments should be made for these services,” the statement emphasized.
For assistance, Kenyans in Lebanon are encouraged to contact help lines: +254-114-757-002 (Kenya), +96-171-175-006 (Lebanon), or +96-590-906-719 (Kuwait). Suspicious activities should be reported to the Embassy in Kuwait or via email at **

The government expressed concern over the low registration numbers for evacuation and urged all Kenyans in Lebanon to register immediately to ensure their safety. Registration can be completed through the official website [here](https://www.diaspora.go.ke/lebanon.html), or through the provided contact numbers.
The deadline for registration is October 12, 2024, and only registered citizens will be eligible for evacuation. The government also confirmed that two groups of Kenyans have already been successfully evacuated from Lebanon and assured that efforts will continue until all those in need are safely brought home.
