Tanzanian singer Oscar John Lelo, widely known as Whozu, has appealed to netizens to stop insulting his partner and the mother of his child, actress Wema Sepetu, saying the online attacks are hurtful.
Speaking during an interview with a Tanzanian media house on Thursday, July 16, 2026, the singer asked critics to respect Wema, expressing gratitude to her for giving birth to their son Prince Ollie and stressing that he still loves and appreciates her.
“Punguzeni kumtukana mama wa mtoto wangu; mimi nampenda sana and I am thankful to her for giving birth to my son,” Whozu said.
He acknowledged that while people are entitled to their opinions, constant insults on social media are unnecessary and only cause pain.
“Ni ukweli alimuzaa mtoto wangu; hayo mengine yote, matusi yanauma, lakini itabidi tuyazoe, lakini si vizuri. Kama mimi sijawai kukutukana, usinitukane; just appreciate si lazima tutukanane mitandaoni, siyo kitu kizuri,” he added.
Reflecting on their journey into parenthood, Whozu said patience had finally paid off, adding that they were now enjoying the fruits of their perseverance.
The singer also expressed gratitude for the new chapter in their lives, describing the arrival of their son as a blessing and a moment worth celebrating after a long wait.
“Hakika heri ya wenye kusubiri maana subira ni ibada; leo tumeona matunda ya kusubiri,” Whozu stated.
Whozu’s remarks come after he recently confirmed that he and Wema Sepetu are expecting their first child together, a revelation that generated widespread reactions across social media.

Ever since the birth of their son, Whozu has continued to express his excitement about becoming a father.
Speaking about the milestone, the singer said they were finally enjoying the fruits of their patience, describing the arrival of their baby boy as the fulfilment of a long-held dream and a blessing for their family.
“Kesho na badae, Prince Ollie’s parents. Nimetimiza ndoto muhimu ambayo nilishaiota mapema. Maajabu ya Mungu hayasimuliki,” he wrote.
The singer went on to thank God for the blessing, saying the birth of their child was proof that God’s plans are greater than human expectations.
“Sio kuwa tu wazuri sana mbele zake lakini ilimpendeza aonyeshe ukuu wake kwenye uso wa Dunia kuwa makadirio ya wanadamu hayawezi kushinda kudra zake… Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu amejidhihirisha na kutupa Kibali,” he added.
“Hongeraa shunu wangu na Akhsanteni nyote mliokuwa mkituombea, Mungu Yupo na wanaomtumaini Tusichoke kukesha tukiomba maana yeye ni mwenye Huruma siku zote.”
