Tanzanian singer Oscar John Lelo, widely known as Whozu, has appealed to netizens to stop insulting his partner and the mother of his child, actress Wema Sepetu, saying the online attacks are hurtful.

Speaking during an interview with a Tanzanian media house on Thursday, July 16, 2026, the singer asked critics to respect Wema, expressing gratitude to her for giving birth to their son Prince Ollie and stressing that he still loves and appreciates her.

Punguzeni kumtukana mama wa mtoto wangu; mimi nampenda sana and I am thankful to her for giving birth to my son,” Whozu said.

He acknowledged that while people are entitled to their opinions, constant insults on social media are unnecessary and only cause pain.

Ni ukweli alimuzaa mtoto wangu; hayo mengine yote, matusi yanauma, lakini itabidi tuyazoe, lakini si vizuri. Kama mimi sijawai kukutukana, usinitukane; just appreciate si lazima tutukanane mitandaoni, siyo kitu kizuri,” he added.
