Sonja Louise Madzikanda, the ex-wife of late Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo, has offered a glimpse into how their children are spending time following their father’s burial, sharing a playful video of the family at their mansion.
In the clip shared on TikTok on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, Madzikanda is seen following the children outside as they head towards a large, enclosed tennis court within the expansive property.
The video captures a relaxed moment as Chivayo’s son runs ahead with a friend, with the two boys appearing ready to race across the spacious grounds. Madzikanda follows them, engaging the children in light-hearted conversation as she prepares to join their competition.
As the boys ran towards the tennis court, Madzikanda asked where they were heading before learning that they intended to play at the court. She agreed to let them continue, then suggested that she could join the race, turning the moment into a playful exchange with her son and his friend.
“Where are we running towards? Oh, you said in the tennis court? Okay, that is fine; you can play. Okay, let us see how they run,” she said.
She went on to challenge the boys to a race, asking what she would receive if she won. The conversation took a humorous turn when her son promised her $20 if she beat him, prompting her to question whether he actually had the money to honour the bet.
“Do you want me to compete with you? And if I win, what happens? You say you will give me 20 bucks. I hope you have it, okay?” she said.
Madzikanda appeared relaxed and cheerful throughout the interaction, wearing a styled human-hair wig and a polished outfit as she followed the boys outdoors. The video showed her son playing with a friend, with the pair seemingly preparing to test their speed across the expansive grounds.

The clip offers a glimpse into an ordinary family moment in the days following the death of Chivayo, who was laid to rest alongside his wife, Lucy “Lulu” Muteke, on Thursday, October 8, at Glen Forest Memorial Park in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Chivayo, a tycoon of his calibre, died on September 30, 2026, in a helicopter crash near Marondera, east of Harare. Muteke and three other people also died in the accident, which is under investigation.
Who is Sonja Madzikanda?
Madzikanda is a 34-year-old accountant and the mother of Chivayo’s two children. The former couple’s relationship became the subject of public attention following their separation in 2024 and the legal disputes that followed.
In January 2026, Madzikanda filed divorce proceedings that included substantial financial demands relating to child maintenance and other support. The dispute was later resolved through an out-of-court settlement, with reports indicating that Chivayo agreed to pay her US$5 million for the children’s maintenance.
Following Chivayo’s death, Madzikanda was seen with their children during the funeral proceedings, where footage showed her alongside them as they paid their last respects to their father.
