Matungulu MP Stephen Mule has cautioned President William Ruto that his association with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga could lead to his downfall by 2027. Mule, who is also a member of the Wiper party, highlighted past examples where Raila’s alliances with former Presidents Daniel arap Moi, Mwai Kibaki, and Uhuru Kenyatta caused instability in their administrations.
Mule pointed to the merger between Kanu and Raila’s National Development Party (NDP) after the 1997 elections, which he claimed contributed to Kanu’s collapse, and the fallout from Raila’s handshake with Uhuru Kenyatta, which led to tensions within the Jubilee government and the sidelining of then-Deputy President Ruto.
According to Mule, the current government’s problems, such as the increase in school fees, will lead Kenyans to turn away from Ruto and Raila in favor of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka in 2027. He urged the public to support Musyoka to address what he described as the “neo-colonialism” of the current administration.
