Police in Kisii Town have apprehended three Burundi nationals and seized over 55 mobile phones believed to have been stolen.

The arrests took place at a rented house within the Nyankongo area following an operation by officers from Kisii Central Police Station, who acted on intelligence.

The individuals arrested are identified as Birori Benard (31), Bismana Alain (36), and Kibwe Imana (34).

An inventory was conducted, and the recovered mobile phones were retained as evidence. The suspects remain in custody pending their arraignment in court to face charges related to theft and handling suspected stolen goods.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects collaborate with locals to steal and deliver the mobile phones, primarily targeting clients of M-Kopa Safaricom. The police are continuing their investigations into the matter.
