18 suspects arrested following crackdown on criminal gangs in Malindi

Police have arrested 18 suspects in Malindi following a crackdown on criminal gangs accused of terrorising residents in the town and its surrounding areas.

The operation, carried out in the Muyeye and Milano areas, led to the recovery of several stolen items, including mobile phones and a television set, as well as crude weapons believed to have been used during the suspects’ criminal activities.

The suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue, ahead of their arraignment.

Meanwhile, the National Police Service has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property during the festive season, assuring the public of enhanced security measures to ensure peaceful celebrations across the country.
