Police in Ugenya have launched investigations into the death of a 19-year-old local footballer who was found murdered and his body dumped on a farm in Siaga village, North West Ugenya location.

Residents said that the lifeless body of James Omondi Osowo was found lying on a farm along the Miyare-Obet road.

According to Area Assistant Chief of Karadolo West sub-location Mr. George Ominde, the body had stab wounds, believed to have been inflicted by a knife.

It is suspected that James may have been murdered elsewhere, before his body was dumped at the farm.

Preliminary investigations have established that the deceased had attended a match in Rarieda sub-county on Sunday evening in the company of a friend – and riding a borrowed motorcycle.

Police said that the deceased may have taken time to visit a girlfriend in the area – only for his dead body to be discovered on Monday morning. It is not clear what may have transpired.

The police are pursuing the said friend to help with investigations.
