2 KRA Officers Swept Away By Floods In Kwale Identified

Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo said the vehicle, which was ferrying two Kenya Revenue Authority officials before being swept by floods, had been retrieved.

The PS said a team led by the Kenya Coast Guard Service is on the scene trying to retrieve the bodies While on their way to Mombasa, the two KRA officers were swept away by floods at Ramisi Bridge in Lunga Lunga, Kwale county .

The government has released the latest information regarding two Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officers who were swept away by floods in Kwale county.

The two KRA officers were swept away by floods on Friday, November 17.

What are the names of the missing KRA officers?

In a statement on Sunday, November 19, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo said the Land Cruiser, which was ferrying two KRA officials before being swept by floods in Kwale on Friday evening

“The vehicle has been pulled out from the raging waters and towed to Msambweni Police station without the bodies of the two officers,” Omollo said.

The PS also revealed the identities of the two missing officers as Joram Maina, Lungalunga Border Management Committee Chairperson, and his driver, David Ng’ang’a.

According to Omollo, a multi-agency team led by the Kenya Coats Guard Service has been deployed for a rescue mission.

“However, a multi-agency team led by the Kenya Coast Guard Service is on scene trying to retrieve the bodies.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends at this difficult time,” the PS added.

In a related development, ten people have been confirmed dead and thousands have been displaced in four coastal counties due to ongoing heavy rains.
