Three students were killed and 18 others left with injuries after a lorry rammed into their classroom at a school in Gomba, Uganda.

Police say the truck driver lost control and rammed into the fence at Kasaka Senior Secondary School, before proceeding through to the school computer lab.

Photos of the Tuesday afternoon incident shared by police show the lorry nearly halfway into the building with part roof torn up.

The three died on the spot.

“We have arrested the truck driver, one Wanume Abudala, a 26-year-old,” police said.
