Three suspects accused of violent robbery, attempted rape and kidnapping of an Australian man and his Ugandan wife have been released on Ksh1 million bond.
In a statement, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) noted that the three; Nashon Otieno Angudha, Felix Ochieng’ Nyongesa and Jack Ouma Okwiri pleaded not guilty to the charges and were released on Ksh1 million bond with an alternative of Ksh300,000 cash bail.
“Upon completion of investigations and in consultation with @ODPP_KE, three suspects in the violent robbery and loathsome acts of indecency were yesterday arraigned at Kibera Law Courts charged with 10 counts.
“Nashon Otieno Angudha, Felix Ochieng’ Nyongesa and Jack Ouma Okwiri pleaded not guilty to charges of Robbery with Violence, Committing an indecent act with an adult, Being in possession of forged bank notes, Making a document without authority, forgery and conspiracy to defraud,” DCI said.
The case will be mentioned at Kibera’s court no 5 on November 15.

The trio is said to have been part of a four-man gang that lured and robbed an Australian couple of Ksh13.5 million in a fake gold business deal.
In the incident reported by DCI, the suspects are said to have lured the couple from Kampala, Uganda into the country with the promise of getting gold.
Upon their arrival, the couple was ushered with a VIP treatment before being roughed up with hefty blows and strangulation.
They were then robbed of US$60,000, a gold necklace worth US$10,000 and a Rolex watch worth US$20,000.

Scared, badly injured and writhing in agonizing pain, the couple was hurled back in the Prado and dumped at Rehema Hse within the CBD. Good Samaritans helped them to a South B hospital where they were treated before reporting to DCI Gigiri.
“An operation team and crime research detectives launched a manhunt for the perpetrators, forensically placing the arrested four at the scene of crime. Their apprehension came along with the recovery of money counting machines, metallic boxes, forged certificates of mines, customs reflector jackets, military boots, KRA certificates, stamps, a Kenyan flag and fake golden metal bars all confiscated at their Runda office,” a statement by DCI read in parts.
