Police in Migori County on Thursday arrested a 32-year-old suspected drug trafficker and seized a large consignment of bhang valued at approximately Ksh.13.7 million.

Acting on a tip-off, officers from Oruba Police Station intercepted a black Toyota Kluger, registration number KBS 517N, driven by Edwin Okondo Nyagaga, along the Giribe-Masara Road.

The vehicle, which was packed with illicit cargo, contained eight sacks of bhang weighing a total of 457.6 kilograms.

Along with the drugs, police also recovered four number plates—KBP 716H, KBT 673F, KBW 341T, and KBX 142P—which are believed to have been used to conceal the vehicle’s identity during the trafficking operation.

Okondo, along with the narcotics and the vehicle, was escorted to Oruba Police Station for processing pending arraignment.
