A 66-year-old man has died after he fell from a tree in Rarieda, Siaya County.

Bernard Ogola Midika died following the incident at Siger sub-location West Asembo location.

“The man is said to have climbed the tree to trim its branches when he slipped and fell,” locals said.

Further reports indicate that Midika was working as a farm hand at the home of one Stephen Onyango Awidhi.

Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the incident was reported by the area Assistant Chief Moses Ombewa.

He added that the deceased sustained serious head injuries in the process.

“The man’s body was found two days after his fall by a herder,” police added.
