Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz gifted his baby mama, Zuchu, Ksh 3.87 million during a lavish baby shower held on the night of Friday, July 31, 2026, as the pair celebrated the upcoming arrival of their first child together.
The glamorous event was attended by family, friends and several prominent figures from Tanzania’s entertainment industry, including veteran taarab singer Khadija Kopa, Baba Levo, and Barnaba Classic, as guests gathered to celebrate the couple’s unborn child.
One of the biggest highlights of the evening came when the baby’s gender was revealed to be a girl, with pink-themed celebrations filling the venue as guests erupted in cheers.

Diamond’s gift
Diamond later surprised Zuchu with a cash gift of US$30,000, equivalent to Ksh3.87 million.
While presenting the gift, Diamond described the Ksh3.87 million as a small amount before explaining that no amount of money could ever equal what Zuchu had given him.
He praised her with affectionate words, referring to her as a lady, sister, woman, mother, beautiful woman and wife, before saying that carrying their child was a priceless gift that could never be measured in monetary terms.
The singer added that if he were to compensate her based on what she had done for him, no amount of money would ever be enough, describing the cash gift as only a token of appreciation.
“She’s keeping the dollars. It’s only a small amount. It’s US$30,000. In Tanzania that’s about TSh79 million. The gift this lady, this sister, this woman, this mother, this beautiful woman has given me can never be compared to money. If I said I was paying her according to what she has done, I would be lying, but at least this is a token,” Diamond said as guests applauded.

The celebration also featured several emotional moments, with Diamond and Zuchu sharing affectionate embraces and kisses in front of their family and guests, drawing loud cheers from those in attendance.
