Kameme FM presenter Baby Top set Kenyan social media buzzing on Wednesday, September 2, after revealing that Classic FM’s Maina Kageni had openly declared himself single.

She claimed the veteran presenter might be on the lookout for love.

Is Maina Kageni married?

The radio host shared a photo from her chance encounter with Kageni, captioning it:

“Just met The king of the airwaves… 🎙️ Maina Kageni 👀👀 ameniambia he is singo and searching, mnaonaje? 😩”

The post quickly caught fire online, largely because Kageni, who hosts one of Kenya’s most-listened-to morning shows, is known for keeping his personal life tightly under wraps.

That he apparently volunteered the information so candidly was enough to get tongues wagging.

Maina has built a loyal following over the years through his morning programme on Classic 105 FM, where he routinely addresses his listeners as “darlings” and delves into relationship debates that keep Kenyans glued to their radios.

The irony of the man who dissects love lives for a living admitting he is still searching for his own partner was not lost on fans.

Baby Top is equally a recognisable voice in Kenyan media, holding her own as a presenter on Kameme FM, a station popular with Kikuyu-speaking audiences.

The meeting of two prominent radio personalities from different stations was itself a talking point.
