A young man from Nandi County is stuck in Qatar with no money for a flight home after a job opportunity arranged through an overseas recruitment agent reportedly fell apart, leaving his family desperate for help.
Victor Kimeli, son of David and Mrs Mosbei of Chemalal Village in Nandihills, Nandi County, made the journey to Qatar hoping to find steady employment and ease the financial burden on his family.
The arrangement, however, unravelled, and Victor was left stranded in the Gulf country, unable to raise the funds needed to return to Kenya.
Victor’s family holds fundraiser
With Victor unable to secure his own passage home, the Mosbei family moved quickly to find a solution.
They organised a fundraiser on Thursday, September 3, 2026, calling on relatives, friends, neighbours and well-wishers to contribute towards the cost of an air ticket back home.
The appeal was shared on Facebook by community member Gwiji Isaiah on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, a day before the planned fundraiser, and quickly drew attention from people familiar with the family.
