A Kenyan preacher has sparked widespread debate online after a video emerged showing him selling single US dollar bills to his congregation for KSh 1,000 each, claiming the notes had the power to attract foreign connections and wealth.
The clip, shared on TikTok on Thursday, September 3, features Apostle Francis Musili of Around the Globe (ATG) Deliverance Ministry standing at the altar, dollar bills in hand, addressing a packed congregation.
How did Pastor Francis Musili sell dollars?
Musili told worshippers that whenever he travels from America, he returns with a single dollar specifically meant for them.
He framed the transaction as a spiritual gateway rather than a financial one.
“I will not give it to you for free. The exchange rate is just over KSh 100, but you will give me KSh 1,000 instead. But do not spend this dollar; keep it in your wallet,” he told the congregation.
He went further, assuring those who were struggling financially that holding on to the note would yield supernatural results.
“Even if your house is locked due to rent arrears, keep the dollar — it will call white people,” Musili said, before closing the moment with the words “May you get connected.”
Numerous congregants made their way to the front of the church to participate, each handing over KSh 1,000 in exchange for the dollar. After the exercise, the pastor asked the crowd to applaud him.
The video quickly caught traction online, with Kenyans offering a mix of disbelief, humour and sharp criticism.
