A family in Getare-Emenwa, Masige East Ward, Nyamache Sub-County has torn down a house at the centre of widespread attention after an image reportedly resembling the Virgin Mary was said to have manifested there.

Nyamagwa Parish priest Edward Nyakundi addressed the crowd gathered at the homestead, offering a scientific explanation for what residents believed they had witnessed.
He was direct in his assessment, stating that the image was not that of the Virgin Mary and urging residents to stop visiting the property.
The priest explained that the image was a result of water mixing with smoke from the kitchen area to create a pattern that looks like an image.
