A Ugandan woman from Mbarara has made a public appeal for help after alleging that her American husband abandoned her and their two young children following his return to the United States.
Juliet Mbabazi says she and Travis Preston were together for roughly two years, during which they had two children, now aged three and seven.
According to Mbabazi, Preston left Uganda, returned to the US, and eventually cut off all financial support for the family, leaving her to care for both children on her own.
The story drew wider attention after Ugandan singer Bruno K joined the search effort, urging Ugandans living in the US, especially those with ties to the military, to assist in establishing Preston’s whereabouts.

A number of Ugandans reportedly serving in the US military have since reached out, indicating they are willing to help trace him.
Bruno K also directed a public appeal to the US Embassy in Kampala, urging officials to look into whether the two children, whose alleged father is an American serviceman, might qualify for US citizenship or access any form of support through him.
Beyond the search for Preston, those rallying around Mbabazi have encouraged her to seek legal counsel and approach the appropriate authorities to pursue the matter through formal channels, rather than relying solely on public appeals.
Bruno K further announced a fundraising initiative to help the family cover immediate needs, including food and school expenses for the children, as the situation continues to attract concern across social media.
