Kenyan singer Nyota Ndogo has turned down her Danish husband’s request for her to fly out to Denmark, choosing instead to stay behind and focus on her new business venture.
The singer shared the update with fans on Monday, September 28, alongside a photo of herself and her Mzungu husband.
Why did Nyota Ndogo refuse to go see Mzungu hubby?
In her own words, the situation has become something of a running joke between the couple, with her husband growing increasingly insistent while she holds her ground.
According to Nyota, her husband has been genuinely worried about her wellbeing, telling her she looks exhausted and deserves a proper break.
“My husband says he feels so sorry for me. He says he thinks I am getting too tired and I should go to Denmark and rest,” she wrote.
The reason for her refusal is straightforward: she recently opened a hotel and feels it demands her full attention at this stage.
She says that since launching the business, she has not had a single proper rest, and the pressure is beginning to show.
Rather than pack her bags, Nyota proposed a different plan entirely, suggesting her husband travel to Kenya in December so they could then head to Denmark together in January.
“I told him to leave me alone for now because the hotel is still new and I need to give it attention. But he just doesn’t want to listen!” she shared, adding a laughing emoji to soften the admission.
She also noted that this is already the second time she has declined to make the trip to her husband’s home country.
Followers were quick to weigh in, with opinions split between those backing her hustle and those concerned about the strain of a long-distance marriage.
